Due to winter storm conditions, the University is closed today, Tuesday, Jan. 27.  Day and evening classes are canceled. An updated advisory on the status of classes and operations for tomorrow will be posted this evening. During the time that the University is closed, the Commons, Subway, and Village Market will maintain regular hours for residential dining services and the Sports Center will be open for use by residential students only. Dan Army of Enfield Wins Prestigious Art Prize

Dan Army, a University of Hartford freshman from Enfield, won top honors at this year’s Alexander A. Goldfarb Student Exhibition during a ceremony held in the University of Hartford’s Joseloff Gallery on Feb. 17.

Army was one of two students to win Purchase Awards in the amount of $1,000, made possible through the Alexander A. Goldfarb Endowment Trust. Army’s award-winning "A Dedication to Female Graffiti Writers," a mixed media painting created primarily with spray paint, will be part of the University’s permanent collection.

The annual juried Alexander Goldfarb Student Exhibition and awards are open to all undergraduate and graduate students of the University of Hartford, in all schools and colleges. Army, a student in University’s Hartford Art School is believed to be the first freshman to win.
