University of Hartford sports fans will be getting up early tomorrow, Nov. 12, to cheer on the men’s basketball team as it takes on Florida Gulf Coast University at 7 a.m. The game, which will air on ESPN2, will be shown on two large screens in the Commons Dining Hall. There will be a special, expanded breakfast menu and students will be competing in a Hawk Spirit Contest.

All members of the University community and the general public are invited. Students will be charged a meal swipe, faculty and staff pay $5, and alumni and the general public pay $6.99. Doors open at 6:30 a.m.

The game is part of ESPN’s 24-hour Tip-Off Marathon, the network’s annual kickoff of the college basketball season. This is the first time that the University of Hartford has been part of the high-profile Tip-Off Marathon.
