News and Notes about the University of Hartford Class of 2013

There are just over 1,500 graduates in the University of Hartford’s Class of 2013 — about 1,100 undergraduate students and 425 graduate students.

Over 40 percent of undergraduates in the class are graduating with honors: cum laude – 129; magna cum laude – 191; summa cum laude – 151

There are also 37 undergraduates who are graduating with University Honors, which means they chose to complete 18 credits in honors course work and, in some cases, a senior-year thesis or research project. This number of University Honors graduates exceeds last year's record of 36.

Saturday’s graduates will include the first graduating class in the University’s Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO) program. Eleven students are graduating with MSPO degrees. (Two of these students—Stephen Charry and Taber Hammond—were part of a team that went to Peru in March to help fit people there with new prosthetics; see story here.
