CT Honor Flight
Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 15, 2007, a chartered jet backed away from the gate at Bradley International Airport and taxied to its runway. More than 60 years after World War II ended, the 100 veterans on board were finally getting a chance to visit their memorial.
A WWII Memory
Army veteran Tony Pignone A’49, ’56 (Barney), was sponsored by the University on the Connecticut Honor Flight. He spent WWII based in Iran, along with 30,000 other GIs, on a very important assignment.
