The primary role of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is to support faculty and staff to secure external funding for scholarly research, programmatic initiatives and other projects which cannot be funded through the University. The majority of the funders with who we work are in the public sector, but there are certain corporations and foundations to whom we submit proposals.
If you have an idea, please contact us and we will help you identify a possible funding source. Once a funder is identified, OSP will assist in developing the proposal to ensure it responds to the funder’s requirements. If you are fortunate enough to receive funding, we will assist in the award set-up and the compliance issues that require attention throughout the life of the grant.
On the left had column of this page are several links to other pages of this web-site which you might find useful. For faculty and staff who are considering writing a proposal, I encourage you to look at the material in the PI Portal. On that page you will find a great deal of information from identifying funding opportunities to a description of the support available from OSP. There are also key templates for the internal forms which are required for all applications. Many proposal applications require the same type of basic information about the University. This information can be found on the “Fact Sheet” link.
Any suggestions regarding what faculty or staff at the University of Hartford would like to see on this site are welcome. There is a great deal of information available on this site, but please do not hesitate to call or stop by to discuss your plans for a research project or any other initiative which will require external funding. In the past several years we have received dozens of awards totaling millions of dollars. OSP is eager to help you find the resources to fund your research project!
