Weekend Storm and Arrival Advisory

A winter storm warning is now in effect for Hartford County until 7 p.m. Sunday. Residential students are asked to postpone their return to campus to Monday afternoon or, for those whose class schedules allow, Tuesday. Students, please do not travel to and arrive on campus Sunday, and check back here throughout and following the storm for the latest advisories.

Hartt Community Division activities before 2:30 p.m. on Sunday have been canceled. An update will be posted by 10 a.m. Sunday about the status of HCD activities scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and later.

Upper Albany Main Street

Upper Albany Main Street (UAMS) is a 501(c)3 designated National Main Street Community that was founded in 2000 by Upper Albany merchants, residents, and stakeholders. UAMS uses the Main Street four-point approach to achieve sustained community and economic revitalization.

UAMS focuses on using an approach that also include   one-on-one, on-site and off-site training for new and aspiring entrepreneurs, and also for existing small businesses currently looking to expand within the Upper Albany community.  

In 2005, UAMS received the Eddy "Inner-City/Urban Award" as the best Inner-City/Urban program in the state of Connecticut.


On April 17, 2014, executives from the Milbar Laboratories, Inc. were guest speakers at the UAMS, Micro Business Incubator (MBI) class conducted at the University of Hartford's Handel Performing Arts Center. Milbar Laboratories, Inc., manufactures the Evay Skin Care product line.
