RA Selection 2017 - 2018

The Office of Residential Life is accepting applications to become a Resident Assistant. RAs at the University of Hartford serve a vital role in helping to shape the residential experience and in educating students about what it means to be “Committed to Community”. RAs serve as community builders, helpers, program and event planners, administrators, relationship builders, and so much more.

Their primary role is to serve as a peer advisor whose purpose is to make sure that each student who lives on campus has a positive living/learning experience. RAs are available to:

  • Provide support with social, personal, and other issues
  • Assist in the resolution of conflicts with room/suite/apartment mates
  • Engage with students and build a community within each living environment
  • Uphold the rules and expectations of the University Code of Student Conduct and Residential Life policies and procedures
  • Create educational opportunities and programs for residents regarding academics, self-awareness, leadership, life skills, citizenship and much more
  • Enforce safety and security measures in cooperation with Public Safety
