Administrators and Assistant Directors


The Office of Residential Life consists of more than 100 dedicated members who serve the residents of the University of Hartford. These highly motivated and trained individuals makeup talented teams of administrators, assistant directors, resident directors, graduate assistants, lead resident assistants, resident assistants, customer service representatives, assignment assistants, and community assistants.

The assistant vice president for residential life is responsible for the leadership and oversight of all areas of the Office of Residential Life, including budgets, the development of policies and procedures, and managing the selection, training, and supervision of the office's professional staff.

The administrative assistant to the director is responsible for the management of the Office of Residential Life. This includes coordination of administrative processes; recruitment, training, supervision of customer service representatives; facilitation of key processes; and communication with students, families, and visitors.

The associate director is responsible for the overall functions of residential life programming; community damage billing; community development; and the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of resident directors, graduate assistants, and, indirectly, resident assistants. The associate director also oversees a two-credit leadership course, supports residential learning communities, and serves as the Residence Hall Association advisor.

The assistant director for assessment and technology is responsible for the overall management of the Residential Life website, social media, marketing and assessment strategies, software support, and technology equipment. In addition, she provides support and training for the Residential Life staff.

The assistant director for assignments and billing is responsible for the oversight of all on-campus housing assignments, billing, and processes for the academic year and summer terms. This includes coordinating and managing the room-change, room-selection, and buyout procedures. In addition, she develops assignment policies and procedures, and directly supervises student staff support and the coordinator of assignments and billing.

The coordinator of assignments and billing provides administrative support to the assistant director for assignments and billing. This includes processing student room changes and housing withdrawal paperwork, assisting with housing assignment procedures, administering card access, and processing all billing for Residential Life.
