Hurricane Katrina was the deadliest and most destructive Atlantic tropical cyclone of the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season. It is the costliest natural disaster, as well as one of the five deadliest hurricanes, in the history of the United States. The 2015 Alternative Spring Break Trip will integrate service, education, and reflection and focus primarily on disaster relief and helping the residents of New Orleans, Louisiana continue to rebuild their neighborhoods and communities.
APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 4:30PM FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24TH!
Alternative Spring Break is an incredible opportunity but does require quite a bit of work and dedication prior to Spring Break. If you are accepted you will be required to sign a Trip Commitment Form which will outline your responsibilities in detail before the trip. You will be required to attend fundraisers for ASB and attend all group meetings for your trip prior to departure. Our goal is to fundraise as a group and lower the overall cost, leaving you with a balance of $250.00. The trip initially costs up to $850.00 per student, our fundraising efforts significantly affect what each participant pays out of pocket. The student will be responsible to pay the final balance for ASB no later than Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014. Please understand that your trip fee is non-refundable should you be removed from the ASB trip or if you are unable to attend.
Due to the competitive nature of this application process, your responses to the following questions will be used to determine whether or not you will be selected for an interview.
