Meet Our Staff

MARY NORRIS

  •  Administrative Director--Responsible for all day-to-day operations, wellness outreach, scheduling, provider coverage and patient care advocate. 
  • Mary came here in 1996.  Prior to coming to the University, she worked as an administrator for outpatient rehabilitation care in the Manchester/Hartford region.

 
PHYSICIAN(s)
ProHealth Physicians provides physician coverage to this site.  Currently Dr. Demetra Eleftheriou and Dr. Jacquline Paradis are sharing coverage of Student Health Services.  Dr. Eleftheriou covers 32 hours per week and Dr. Paradis covers 8 hours on Thursdays.  They are here from 8:30a-4:30p.

  • MD--Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine.  (East Lansing, Michigan)
  • MPH--University of Michigan, School of Public Health (Ann Arbor, Michigan)
  • BA--Kalamozoo College, (Kalamazoo, Michigan)
  • 13 years as a family practice physician

LISA M. CANAS, APRN

  • University of Connecticut (BSN)
  • University of Hartford (MSN) 
  • Board certification by ANCC
  • Member of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, SigmaTheta Tau International Nursing Honor Society
  • Lisa has been with Health Services as a nurse practitioner since 2000. Her special interests are in primary healthcare of the older adolescent, including reproductive health, women’s health, and health teaching. 

 
CHERI BRADY, APRN, MED. 

  • Women’s healthcare practitioner: For over 20 years Cheri has been providing healthcare to women of all ages. While she treats a variety of gynecological problems and issues, Cheri’s passion is in promoting health and wellness through establishing healthy habits, preventative measures, and early intervention.
  • Cheri has incorporated complementary therapies, such as relaxation, guided imagery, therapeutic touch, and hypnotherapy, into her traditional practice as she focuses on the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. 

 
DEENA M. BABIGIAN, APRN

  • Adult nurse practitioner since 1995 
  • Deena has been working at University of Hartford Student Health Services since September 2001, caring for general health issues as well as women’s health and campus health education.
  • Previously employed at Bentley College Student Health Service as clinical provider and health educator from 1998 to 2001.
  • Previously employed at Yale Health Plan Internal Medicine Department as a primary care provider from 1996 to1998. 


Leslie Andersen, RN

  • 20 years experience
  • Allergy nurse specialist
  • Leslie joined our staff 2013, she provides triage, allergy and flu clinics, educational outreach, and patient care for our students.

 
PAOLINA MAGOWAN, Medical Assistant

  • Paolina has been working in Health Services as an MA since 2004.
  • She is responsible for patient set up, lab testing, blood draws, telephone triage, and scheduling.


NICOLE MEYER, Medical Assistant

Nicole joined us in August 2011.

  • She is responsible for patient set up, lab testing, blood draws, telephone triage, and scheduling.

 
PATTY PERKINS

  • Patty has been with us since 1997. 
  • She is the office supervisor and is responsible for scheduling, chart set up, immunization record maintenance, and the day-to-day operations of the front office. 

 
LORRAINE DAIGLE

  • Front desk receptionist, scheduling and telephone triage
  • Lorraine joined us in 2009.
