For anyone familiar with the art of Stepping, the UHA STEPPAZ are a quality Step Team. This group is a favorite during the Midnight Mania, the university’s annual opening ceremonies for the basketball season. The Steppaz have taught the art of Stepping to local school children and to children at a local Boys and Girls Club.
Tryouts for the team are held every September at the Sports Center and are open to any University of Hartford student. Every year the team presents fresh new routines and the group continues to grow in popularity and reputation. The UHA Steppaz host an annual step competition on campus, awarding monetary prizes, and inviting college and university teams, community groups, and up and coming groups to perform for the university and surrounding communities.
