Maria Arroyo is a fourth year student pursuing a major in politics and government, and a minor in rhetoric and professional writing. She is an honor student, a 3rd year resident assistant on campus, and has participated in several research projects investigating the implementation of humanitarian aid projects. She has traveled to India and Kenya to do so. Recently, she received the Dorothy Goodwin Summer Scholar's Grant and lived on campus to co-author an article, with Dr. Katherine Owens, about the interactions between development projects and the people they aid. She hopes to attend Law school in 2013. She is currently the President for the Student Government Association. Maria has been in SGA for 4 years, she was the Hawk Hall Senator her first year, the Academic Vice-President her second year, and the Executive Assistant her third year. She looks to promote student advocacy as much as possible, and is always helping the SGA senators as needed. Maria encourages anyone to reach out to her with any questions.
