The English Language Institute (ELI) of the University of Hartford offers a comprehensive academic program designed for international students who need to improve their English language skills before starting their studies at an American college or university, particularly the University of Hartford. Students receive 25 hours of instruction per week. The faculty of the ELI hold advanced degrees in English, linguistics, or related fields and have considerable experience in teaching English as a Second Language.
