University of Hartford sophomore infielder Bobby Gorski was named the America East Performer of the Week on Monday. Gorski provided the heroics in both of the Hawks’ wins last week, with walk-off hits in both games.

Against Central Connecticut, the sophomore finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI, but it was the second RBI in the bottom of the ninth inning that mattered most. With bases loaded, his hard-hit ball to third base produced the game-winning run, scoring Andy Drexel.

The next day against Sacred Heart, Gorski scored the tying run as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning, and then hit his first collegiate grand slam over the left field fence for his second walk-off in as many games.

Gorski finished the week hitting .273 with three hits in 11 at bats, with three walks, four runs scored and six RBI. For the season, he is hitting .267 with eight hits in 20 at bats.

The Hawks return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they welcome the Connecticut Huskies to the Hartford Baseball Field for a 3:00 p.m. game.
