Wellness Fair 2008

A Wellness Fair for Faculty and Staff was held on Wednesday, October 8th in Konover, and was a great success. Much of the University community participated in the fair and took the first steps towards becoming Healthy Hawks! Thank you to all who attended.

We had a number of internal and external vendors at the wellness fair including Health Services, Hartt, United Healthcare, Aetna Dental, Contours Day Spa, Aramark, Jewish community Center, and the University's Physical therapy Center, Massage Therapist, Athletics, and the University Bookstore.

Individuals who attended were able to have their blood pressure, BMI, glucose and cholesterol checked free of charge, enjoyed a complimentary chair massage, received their flu shot and were able to enter to win one of the many great raffle prizes on display!

The wellness committee and the Benefits Task Force would like to make this an annual event. In an effort to keep the momentum moving with regards to wellness we will be holding another wellness fair sometime in Spring 2009. Some of the same vendors will be present and we hope new vendors will also participate. We will keep you informed as to upcoming events and hope to see you all there.
