Engaging Workshops, Fun Conferences, Exciting Speakers and More!
The Women’s Advancement Inititiave plans events and outings on a monthly basis which are open to all students at the University. These events are designed to give students a way to interact, discuss campus and mainstream topics, build leadership skills, as well as establish a new network of friends and classmates. Students should join our mailing list, check the Gengras student calendar or read UNOTES to find out more.
First Thursday Trips to The Wadsworth Atheneum
The Women’s Advancement Initiative organizes group trips to the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art located in downtown Hartford. The outings take place on the first Thursday of every month of the academic year. Thanks to wonderful The Women’s Advancement Initiative donors, the tickets are free of charge for students and transportation is provided (departs from the Sports Center at 6:00PM). All students are welcome!
Community Events and Mentoring Opportunities
The Women’s Advancement Inititiave organizes events open to all students, staff and faculty, as well as the greater Hartford community on certain occasions. These events include speakers, book signings, film watch parties, live streaming of events and much more. In addition to the open events, there are numerous ways to get involved with The Women’s Advancement Inititiave. One of the most important ways to engage is by mentoring a female student on campus. We welcome ideas for events and new opportunities. Please contact us to share your ideas.
