How to Enter the 2017 Writing Contest

Submissions are due by Friday March 10, 2017 at 5:00 PM, and must be submitted electronically at contest@hartford.edu.

Neither late nor paper entries will be accepted!

You may enter in up to three categories.  This means you may submit no more than one of the following:

  • Three poems and two prose pieces.
  • Six poems (in two categories) and one prose piece.
  • Three prose pieces. 

How to Submit:

  1. Be sure you have carefully revised your best work.
  2. Email contest@hartford.edu with the following.
    1. Put your last name in the subject line.
    2. In the body of the email, provide the following information.
      • Information about YOU:
        • Your name
        • Your local phone number
        • Your local mailing address
      • Information about your submission:
        • The title(s) of each work
        • The category you are entering for each
        • And for what course and instructor,
        • if any, the piece was written
    3. One Microsoft Word file for each submission.
      NOTE: This means one file for each category you are entering, so there should be a maximum of three attachments.
