My research interests include Numerical Linear Algebra, specializing in fast algorithms for structured matrices, and fast inversion methods for polynomial-Vandermonde matrices, Laurent polynomials, and Cauchy-Vandermonde systems.

While at UConn I also developed an interest in the use of technology in the mathematics classroom and flipping pedagogy.

Pedagogical Research:

I am a Co-PI on the NSF grant Supporting and Sustaining Scholarly Mathematics Teaching (S^3MT), which was recently funded for $583,525.  S^3MT is a three-year, level one, development and implementation IUSE: EHR project (within the engaged student learning track). It seeks to develop a cadre of scholarly teachers who will teach flipped mathematics courses using research-based instructional strategies (RBIS), and who are committed to conducting research on the effectiveness of these pedagogical innovations.

I am collaborating with Mako Haruta on a student research project called the Calculus Solutions Group (CSG).  The project brought together eight undergraduate students with the goal to write solutions to Calculus problems to be used in a flipped Calculus classroom.

Undergraduate Research

Currently working with an undergraduate student on advanced analytics in sports, focusing on college basketball.
