Bachelor of Arts in History

This is a sample program developed for the thirty-six credits for the history major and for the general education requirements. It should be used only as a guide in setting up schedules. Students concentrate in American (A), European (E), or Asian and Middle Eastern (AME) history.  Students wishing to concentrate in more than one field must discuss these options with their advisor. If the student chooses to concentrate in either European History or in the History of Asia and the Middle East, the program choices for all years after the first year will change (please see the comments on the next page and also consult the department for further information).  The Department strongly recommends (1) that History majors complete an internship, preferably in their junior or senior year, and (2) take a term abroad in their junior or senior year.
