Edit Page

Editing page folder view

Choose the page from the file list and select Asset Action Toolbar > Edit.

Instructions & Tips

Edit can be selected by choosing it from the Asset drop-down Menu, the Asset Action Toolbar, or by clicking the (pencil icon) next to the page to modify.

Inline Metadata

Edit page - Properties

Display Name – A shortened Title for the page. This is what displays in navigation menus.

Title – The Title is used for the page heading and title bar of the browser. It can be the same as the Display Name of a little longer.

Display in mobile site navigation? - Gives the option of having a page display on smart phones, pads or tablets — any browser that displays an abridged version of websites.

Display in Navigation? – Gives the option of having a page be viewable and accessible from the Left Navigation.

Banner Image

The Banner Image can be changed either by choosing an existing banner from Files/Images/Banners folder within the CMS or can be custom-made by sending images to the Office of Marketing and Communication. Changing a banner on a Default Page will affect any pages associated to that page.

Main Content

Content can be added or edited using The WYSIWYG Editor, create tables, add photos and create internal and external links.

Right Column

The Right Column area allows additional content blocks to display on a page-by-page basis. A user can select content from the right-column folder located in the CMS, It allows reuse of content across multiple webpages.

Social Media

Social media links may be added to University of Hartford web pages by creating a Social Media Block for your department or school. The Social Media Block contains information about which social media icons will appear as well as the specific pages on the social media site that they will connect to.

Advanced Options

Check Spelling – Runs spell-check on the file when it is submitted. A window will pop up if there are any unknown words:

  • Select Modify, Suggestions (choose different suggestions from the Drop-down Menus), Add, or Ignore for each row/word.

Check Accessibility –  Checks if the page is accessible with special devices.

  • A window will pop-up when you have accessibility issues: Enter the values to make your page accessible.

Check for broken Links – Tests links to see if they connect to active web pages.

  • A window will pop up if a link cannot connect to a page or site. Enter the corrected address to make link active.

Start Workflow – Not used.

Tidy HTML – will auto correct any manually inputted HTML coding.

Save a Page

Edit page - Submit

  • Submit  – Saves all changes. This will launch the Spelling, Links and Accessibility check, if they are turned on and create a Version of the page in the version list.
  • Update Draft – Saves current changes and allows the user to keep working in Edit mode. Changes will not be permanent until saved using the Submit button.
  • Discard Draft – Removes any changes and allows the user to keep working in Edit mode.
  • Cancel – Removes changes return user to View mode.

Hit the Submit button after any corrections or changes to save them. When changes are made successfully, this message will be displayed under the Main Menu Bar.
