I cannot find my website in Cascade Server.

All sites are located in the the U of H Main Site Tab drop down menu at the top of the screen. Select the Base folder from the Folder Tree and all department sites are displayed alphabetically.

Site Location

If you do not see the website that you need to edit, contact web services at the Office of Marketing and Communication.

Images are not showing up or show up inconsistantly, within Cascade Server or on the Live Site.

Check the image System Name using the Move/Rename function.
Ensure that the System Name:

  • Contains only traditional characters (no single spaces "about-us.jpg” is correct; “about us.jpg” is not correct). Use hyphens to separate individual words.
  • Image has an image file extension at the end (like .jpg, .gif, or .png).
I deleted a file from Cascade, but it is still showing on the website.

Content must be Unpublished to be removed from the website.
If you have deleted something, go to your Recycle Bin and restore the item with the restore icon Restore Icon.

Delete the content or page again, but this time check the box next to where it says Unpublish.

Click Submit to Delete the content or page.

The Breadcrumbs on my website are wrong or are missing items.

Breadcrumbs are controlled by the Display Names of folders.

Breadcrumbs

Check the Display Name of every page and folder within the hierarchy through the Edit function. Correct or add names as necessary.

Folder strctureIn the example at right, the Default page is located at: aboutuofh/at_glance/accreditation/default.

In order to check the breadcrumbs for the example Default page, you would check the Display Names of the aboutuofh, at_glance, and accreditation, but not including the default page itself.

The Left Navigation is not working, or it is missing links that I want to include.

Auto-Navigation is controlled through the Display Names of 1st level items in your Base Folder. 1st level items are items that are within the Base folder and no other folder.

Navigation LevelsThe 1st level items are the A_and_S folder, and the aboutuofh folder. 2nd level academic_support folder, at_glance folder, and files folder. sources folder, and the default page. 3rd level items are the default page, images folder, and the pdf folder.

To add a 1st level item to your Auto-Navigation:

  1. Edit the piece of content or page you wish to add.
  2. Add or edit the Display Name to the desired navigation item name.
  3. In the page Edit tab in the first section "Inline Metadata" select Yes to Display in mobile site navigation and Display in Navigation.

Submit your changes to Cascade Server.
