Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities that the Information Technology Executive Council will address in relation to technology governance include the following:

  • Establish a vision, direction and multi-year plan for achieving the institution's IT strategic priorities 
  • Review, prioritize, and approve proposed technology initiatives, policies, and procedures with institutional scope including recommendations from the standing advisory committees
  • Guide institutional investments in IT infrastructure and resources
  • Use institutional and benchmark data to inform decision-making and assess outcomes
  • Create and implement a communications strategy to keep campus constituents informed of the Council's efforts, gather feedback, and share IT trends and best practices as appropriate
  • Develop and distribute reports documenting the progress made relative to Information Technology goals, assess effectiveness of IT initiatives, and recommend actions
  • Work with standing advisory committees to ensure coordination and communication
