ENHP Names Joyce Thielen Program Director for New Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program

March 19, 2019 - Joyce Z. Thielen has been named program director for the University of Hartford’s new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Cesarina Thompson, dean of the University’s College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions, announced Thielen’s appointment after learning that the new program has received approval from the State of Connecticut Board of Examiners for Nursing. The University’s four-year bachelor’s degree program has begun accepting students for the Fall 2019 semester.

ENHP students earn dementia care certification

December 10, 2018 - As an increasing number of older adults are diagnosed with dementia, health-care providers need to be ready to work with patients with memory loss. The College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions (ENHP) is helping students prepare for their careers by offering dementia care training for radiologic technology students during the fall semester. The College’s respiratory therapy students will take the training in the spring.

University of Hartford Introduces a Minor in Gerontology

November 28, 2019 - To help ensure that its graduates are prepared for future employment trends, the University of Hartford has introduced a Gerontology minor for undergraduate students and joined the Age-Friendly University (AFU) Global Network, a group of higher education institutions that have endorsed 10 AFU principles and committed themselves to becoming more age-friendly in their programs and policies. The Gerontology minor is an inter-disciplinary program that includes courses in psychology, sociology, health sciences, art, and business.

University of Hartford to Launch Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program

September 4, 2018 - The University of Hartford’s College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions (ENHP) will launch a new entry-level Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in the fall of 2019 and is now accepting applications for the first class. This program will build on ENHP’s long-standing reputation of excellence in the greater Hartford community for its nationally accredited RN to BSN and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs.
