1970–1979

Naomi-Tussin.png1977: NAOMI LERNER TUSSIN

Naomi Lerner Tussin (HARTT) of Avon, Conn., showcased her line of jewelry for the first time at an international wholesale event at NY NOW, a four-day trade show at the Javits Center in New York City.

1980–1989

1980: HUI-MEI-LIN

Pianist Hui-Mei-Lin (HARTT) of Hawthorne, N.Y., performed at the Briarcliff Congregational Church in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. An experienced and highly-respected concert performer, she is currently a faculty member at Sacred Heart University where she teaches studio piano and co-directs two choirs.

Reddy.png1981: MICHAEL REDDY

Internationally renowned periodontics specialist Michael Reddy (A&S) of Mountain Brook, Alabama, has been appointed dean of the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry. He had been on the faculty at the UAB School of Dentistry since 1989 where he was also the dean for seven years.

1982: EDWARD CETTO

The Original Congregational Church of Wrentham, Mass., has appointed Edward Cetto (HARTT) of Easthampton, Mass., as its director of music and organist. Most recently, he was directing choral groups in Dublin, Ireland.

Salazar.png1985: DANIEL SALAZAR 

Classical guitarist Daniel Salazar (HARTT) of Hartford, Conn., performed an evening of tango, flamenco and romantic music during a Valentine's Day concert at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Conn.

 

Tanzman.png1986: GEORGE TANZMAN

George Tanzman (A&S) of Bangkok, Thailand was appointed president of finance, Americas and Europe, for Rosewood Hotel Group. He joined Rosewood with nearly three decades of experience in the financial services sector of the luxury hospitality industry. Most recently, Tanzman served as CFO for Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas.

 

 

Barber.png1988: AMY LYNN BARBER

Percussionists Sam Holmstock and Amy Lynn Barber D (HARTT) of East Sandwich, Mass., performed together for two shows in February on Cape Cod. Barber has had a distinguished career as a performer, teacher and arts administrator. She is the founder and artistic director at The Percussion Plus Project and the ragtime marimba band Xylophonia.

1990–1999

1992: ART HENNIG

Taylor Hennig, the daughter of former men's soccer standout Art Hennig (BARNEY) of Farmington, Conn., has signed a National Letter of Intent to play women's soccer at UHart.

1992: GIRISH RISHI

JDA Software CEO Girish Rishi M (BARNEY) of Paradise Valley, Ariz., had his article, “The Other EQ Nobody Seems to Talk About,” published in Forbes.com. He was invited to write the piece as a member of the Forbes Technology Council, an invitation-only community for world-class CIOs, CTOs and technology executives.

1993: RUSS BLATT


Russ Blatt (CETA), M'96 (BARNEY) of Plainview, N.Y. has been named assistant director of USA Obstacle Course Racing. His role will be to recruit the organization's leadership and increase membership. The USAOCR is the national governing body for obstacle course racing.

1997: SCOTT ASHTON

Corporate Service Supply and Manufacturing (CSSM) announced the hiring of aviation industry veteran Scott Ashton M (CETA) of Unionville, Conn., as the company's new president and CFO. Most recently, he served as president of the Associated Aircraft Group.

2000–2009

2001: LAURA MILLER JASINSKI

Global Marketing at Lightspeed Research, a WPP market research agency, promoted Laura Miller Jasinski (A&S) of Boonton, N.J., to head of global marketing.

2003: ANTHONY BARRETT

Anthony Barrett (A&S) of Bloomfield, Conn., received a Community Service Award at the African & African American History Bee in February. The event was sponsored by Calling All Brothers, Inc. and took place at Capital Community College in Hartford, Conn.

2004: KATE KAMMEYER

Kate Kammeyer M (HARTT) of North Liberty, Iowa, was promoted to the position of general manager at the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO). Most recently, she served as LACO's orchestra manager and director of community programs. Kammeyer joined the organization in October, 2016.

Gander.png2007: SHANTA LEE GANDER

An article on the rise of former slave and prominent historical figure Lucy Terry Prince, written by Shanta Lee Gander M (BARNEY) of Brattleboro, Vt., appeared in Ms. Magazine. Prince was also the subject of a presentation Gander gave at Landmark College in honor of Black History Month. Gander is a writer and artist. 

2010–2019

Delva.png2010: DIANA DELVA

A Q&A with Chelbe Founder Diana Delva(BARNEY) of Stamford, Conn., appeared in fastcompany.com. Her clothing line, focusing entirely on the needs of tall women, is sold directly to consumers at affordable price points through her web site. Delva was a star player for the UHart women's basketball team and still competes professionally in Europe. 

2010: TIFFANY MOHAMMED

Tiffany Mohammed M (BARNEY) of Bloomfield, Conn., received a $500 self-funded human resources scholarship from Andy Thiede of Berlin, Conn. She was selected by a board of advisers made up of HR professionals. Mohammed is an acquisition manager at a technology firm in the Hartford, Conn., area. 

2011: MAXWELL BAUMANBauman

Maxwell Bauman (A&S) of Arlington, Mass., had his first book, The Anarchist Kosher Cookbook, published in December. The book is a collection of fun Jewish-themed horror stories. Bauman is editor-in-chief of Door Is a Jar literary magazine. 

 

 

 

 

 2014: ALEX GOUIN

The New Britain Bees, an independent professional baseball team located in New Britain, Conn., acquired relief pitcher Alex Gouin (BARNEY) of West Orange, N.J., from the Somerset Patriots. He is a former member of the UHart baseball team.
