1969 | Arthur G. Sharp

Arthur G. Sharp (A&S) of Sun City Center, Fla., added two books in 2019 to his previously published 17. They are Brother in Baseball: A History of Family Relationships in Major League Baseball and Pluviculture and Metrological Mumpsimuses: How to Avert an $11 Trillion Climate Change “Investment.”

Marks on Land & Mind

1972 | Tom Lamb

The aerial photography of Tom Lamb (HAS) of Laguna Beach, Calif., was featured in an exhibition entitled Marks on Land & Mind that was curated by Juri Koll at the Orange County Center Contemporary Art in January. Lamb's carefully constructed aerial views are uniquely abstract and unencumbered in this particularly specialized realm of photography.

David Katz

1977 | David Katz

David Katz (Hartt, AD’84 Hartt, M’89 Hartt) of Danbury, Conn., a 2019 Hartt Alumni Award recipient, recently conducted his Chicago Bar Association Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and guest choirs, more than 300 in all, in a performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at Symphony Center, Chicago.

1991 | Deborah Laviero

Deborah Laviero (HAS) of Bristol, Conn., was named to the Connecticut Junior Republic's Board of Directors at the organization's annual meeting last September. She is executive vice president of organizational development for OFI, a Newington, Conn.-based Herman Miller furniture dealership that supports architectural and design firms.

1992 | Martin John

Martin John (Ward, M'94 Barney) of Windsor, Conn., has joined the Connecticut Science Center Board of Trustees. He is vice president corporate controller of the Hartford Steam Boiler Insurance company (HSB). John’s team provides high quality reporting and analysis of results to senior leadership and the parent company Munich Re.

Tovah Martin (ENHP) of Marietta, Ga., completed her EdS degree in special education at the University of West Georgia in December 2019.

Robin Craver

1996 | Robin Craver

Robin Craver (HCW) of Webster, Mass., was a unanimous choice as the next town manager in Provincetown, Mass. Previously, she was the town administrator in Charlton, Mass. Craver was hired, in part, for her years of experience and familiarity with municipal government in the state.

Nelba Marquez-Greene

1997 | Nelba Marquez-Greene

Nelba Marquez-Greene (Hartt) of Sandy Hook, Conn., wrote a People exclusive feature, providing a powerful and personal view of the world seven years after her daughter, Ana, fell victim at the Sandy Hook massacre.  

1998 | Sunil Alaric D'Souza

Tata Global Beverages announced the appointment of Sunil Alaric D'Souza (Barney) of Calcutta, India, as its managing director and CEO. Currently the MD of consumer durable firm Whirpool of India, he will assume his new role in April.

1999 | Jeff Trelewicz

Jeff Trelewicz (A&S) of North Haven, Conn., released his sixth novel, Object Of My Obsession, in February.

2013 | Jonathan Rios

Following a successful seven-year career working for different construction companies and design firms in New York City, Jonathan Rios (CETA) of Yonkers, N.Y., has formed his own business, Jonathan Vincent Design. The new venture specializes in providing interior design consulting services throughout the New York City metro area.

2015 | Forrest Ronson

Forrest Ronson (Barney) of New York, N.Y., hosted at the Falcon.io Spark Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, in November 2019. The conversation was about “Success After the Like: Adapting in Social Media Marketing.”

2016 | Chaz Davis

Mobility Athletes Radio hosted track and field paralympian Chaz Davis (A&S) of Grafton, Mass., on its The Road to Mastery as a Pro Athlete podcast last fall. The former Hartford student-athlete was diagnosed with LHON while at UHart, but continued to compete. He went on to earn a master's degree in social work from the University of Denver.

The Hartford Golf Club has selected Curtis D’Anna (M Barney) of Glastonbury, Conn., as its next golf course superintendent. He was the golf course superintendent at Peqabuck Gold Club for the past two years.

Siena

2017 | Matthew Siena

Matthew Siena (A&S) of Middletown, Conn., was one of four individuals who were part of a swearing-in ceremony at West Hartford (Conn.) Town Hall in December. Siena, currently enrolled at the police academy, was an electrician for Siena Electric before joining the West Hartford Police Department.

2018 | Daniel King

GWWO Architects has hired Daniel King (M CETA) of Towson, Md., as a CADD/BIM technician. He joins GWWO's architectural staff and has a variety of experiences that includes detailing, FF&E documentation, and product research. King’s background includes work on multiple community and education projects.

Regis O'Neil

2018 | Regis O'Neil Jr.

Regis O'Neil Jr. (A&S) of Middletown, Conn., has been hired as the youth minister at Saint Bridget of Sweden Parish in Cheshire, Conn. He returns to Connecticut after a year of service running Catholic retreats and a youth group in Garrison, N.Y., with the Capuchin Youth & Family Ministry.

Jennifer Marchand

2019 | Jennifer Marchand

Torrington Savings Bank appointed Jennifer L. Marchand (M Barney) of Winsted, Conn., as the organization's senior vice president, treasurer, and chief financial officer. She most recently held the role of vice president and controller, and joined Torrington Savings Bank as a staff accountant in 2010.
