1957 | Anselmo "Sam" Falcetti

Musician Anselmo “Sam” Falcetti (Hartt) of Wilbraham, Mass., has been chosen as the International Accordion Society’s first lifetime faculty scholar. The honor was bestowed in early November at the International Digital Electronic Accordion Society Symposium in Warren, Ohio.

1969 | Jim Purnell

Jim Purnell (A Hillyer, P’02) of Vernon, Conn., has retired from the bench after 19 years as Judge of Probate for the Ellington, Conn., Probate District. He will continue as a part-time attorney in Vernon and Bloomfield. Purnell will also remain on the executive committee of the National College of Probate Judges.

1974 | Richard L. Clarke

Richard L. Clarke (M Hartt) of Vernon, Conn., is in his 18th year as music director of the Hartford Sängerbund, one the oldest German singing societies in the United States. The Sangerbund has had a continuous, unbroken tradition of German cultural singing since its founding in 1858.

1974 | Paul Wooten

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo appointed Paul Wooten (A&S) of Brooklyn, N.Y., as one of four new justices to the Appellate Division. He was promoted to the Second Department. Justice Wooten formerly sat in the Kings County Supreme Court, Civil Term, before his appointment to the Appellate Division.

1981 | Grace Hinds

Grace Hinds (ADP Hartt) of Bronx, N.Y., is a higher education administrator, consultant, and professor. She received her doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Trident University. Hinds is a higher education consultant with Stoodnt and is an adjunct professor with Lehman College.

1981 | Jon Mattleman

Counselor Jon Mattleman (M ENHP) of Belmont, Mass., delivered a workshop titled The Secret Life of Teens and Tweens to parents and students at Westwood High School in November. He works with parents, youth, and professionals who “seek meaningful change but require outside tools and resources to bring their vision to life.”

1990 | Steven Chase

Steven Chase (M Barney) of Middleburg, Va., was named executive director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Conservation Training Center. NCTC provides training to more than 12,000 conservation professionals each year. Chase has worked with the FWS for 29 years.

1992 | Rodger Metzger

1992 Rodger Metzger (M Barney) of West Simsbury, Conn., was elected to serve a three-year term on the Bay Path University Board of Trustees. As president and chief investment officer for Hooker & Holcombe’s Investment Advisory Group, he serves as the client relationship consultant for the group’s largest and most sophisticated clients.

The South Carolina Theatre Association inducted Broadway performer Phillip Boykin (Hartt) of West Orange, N.J., into its Hall of Fame. He is currently starring as Tonton Julian in the touring company of Once On This Island. The induction took place following an opening night performance in his hometown of Greenville, South Carolina.

Norwich recreation director Cheryl Hancin-Preston (M Barney) of Norwich, Conn., was named the 2019 Connecticut Recreation and Parks Association Outstanding Recreation Professional. She brought a decade of municipal experience from the Connecticut towns of Groton and Colchester when she came to Norwich in 2017.

Stefanie Bourassa (ENHP), (M’08 ENHP) of Enfield, Conn., was featured in a Q&A that appeared in the Hartford Healthcare employee magazine this fall. She is site supervisor and director of the sports medicine clinical program at Hartford Hospital’s Rehabilitation Network, Bone and Joint Institute.

2008 | Teresa Calendrillo Fuller

After a 20-year career in nursing leadership, Teresa Calendrillo Fuller (M ENHP) of Riverton, Conn., was promoted to vice president, patient care services at Hartford Healthcare, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Conn. She had previously worked in a number of nursing leadership and quality leadership positions in the same organization.

2016 | Alexa Keener

Alexa Keener (Barney) of Torrington, Conn., won her bid as member of the Board of Selectman in the town of Torrington, Conn. She is a human resources professional at Aetna.

2019 | Teresa Cardona

SFA Saniflo, a worldwide leader in macerating and grinding toilets and drain pumps, announced the appointment of Teresa Cardona (HAS) of Fords, N.J., as its new marketing and communications manager for North America. In her new role, she will responsible for developing communications strategies that promote Saniflo’s mission.

Kristen Powell ’14 (Hartt), M’16 (Hartt) and Kevin Zheng ’15 (CETA) of Colchester, Conn. were married at the Rock Island Lake Club in Sparta, N.J. on Oct. 13, 2019. Kristen is a freelance bassoonist while Kevin is a senior engineer at General Dynamic Electric Boat.
