Lauren Kennedy ‘02 is the co-curator of “Bending Lines: Maps and Data from Distortion to Deception” at Norman B. Leventhal Map and Education Center at the Boston Public Library. Originally planned as an in-person exhibit, Kennedy invites the UHart community to explore this exciting project online.

Sal Lopes '71 has been active documenting the BLM protests in the Boston area. Lopes has nearly 250 images in museums and has had more than 25 exhibitions. Lopes’ photography is included in collections around the world, including SF MOMA, Museum of Contemporary Art in LA, and the L’Elysees in Switzerland—just to name a few. Lopes has also been featured in publications such as Newsweek and National Geographic. 

In 2013, Lopes was an Anchor Award recipient—the most prestigious award presented by the University of Hartford Alumni Association.

Each graduating student has a portfolio featuring their senior projects. Some of these projects were completed before the statewide shelter-in-place order. Other projects were made during the coronavirus pandemic, despite being away from studios and in-person critiques.
