Photo of student at computerI have been out of school for over 25 years but when I found out about the new MSM Program at the University of Hartford I felt compelled to go back. In fact, I felt so strongly that I talked my sister and two of my co-workers into signing up as well. The ability to obtain your Master’s Degree by taking ten-seven week classes was intriguing.  While I knew the workload would be demanding breaking the program up into seven week classes seemed more manageable. The fact that this program was online seemed to make it more attractive because you could manage your time and do the work when you could. What I enjoy most is that the program has students of all ages and we go back and forth on the discussion boards for each class.  Since this program has students at different places in their careers and a variety of ages, it is nice for those of us that have been in the workforce for a while to share our experiences with those who have not. These discussion boards allow us to tie our personal experiences into the readings and assignments. Hopefully by sharing our experiences we can help them avoid some of the pitfalls that we have come across in our careers. We can also share the benefit of our experiences. We are all learning from one another. With the crazy pace of our lives we all have family obligations, work and personal lives to manage. This program seems to fit and sometimes we just need to do something we have wanted to do for ourselves for a very long time.
