Collaboration with Herat University Objective: Curriculum Revision

The first key objective of the collaboration between the University of Hartford and Herat University is to help revise and further develop the civil engineering curriculum at Herat University. Activities planned to meet this objective include:

  • Adopting the undergraduate civil engineering curriculum approved for Kabul University, with modifications for regional requirements.

  • Update current course syllabi and course descriptions, and develop additional syllabi and course descriptions for new courses.

  • Establish an equivalency system between University of Hartford and Herat University, so that courses taken at Herat are transferable to Hartford. This will enable Herat students to transfer to Hartford, if desired, and make them eligible to apply to the University of Hartford's Master of Engineering program.

Although accreditation is not within the scope of this project, all of the above will prepare the groundwork for accreditation, which is essential for Herat University to become a part of the international academic community.
