Orientation Summer Series and Checklist

Be Prepared for Fall

To make sure that you are prepared for the start of the semester, we are hosting a series of summer webinars on a wide variety of topics that you and your family can join. We have also gathered some important next steps for you to complete prior to the start of the fall semester.

Summer Series

All sessions will take place from 8–9 p.m.

Extra Sessions:

  • TBD: Hartford Scholars (parents and students in the Hartford Scholars program)
  • TBD: STRIDE (parents and students in the Stride program)

These sessions will be hosted on Webex. We recommend that you download the application ahead of time. All event passwords will be hawks (lowercase). As event invitations become available, we will update the schedule with the event links.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us so that we can help!

If you haven't already, we encourage you to fill out the housing application.

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and will go over a series of questions that will help us find the right fit for you.

If you are looking to live in Hawk Hall, you will also have to submit an essay. Applications typically close in early May but with the many uncertainties this year, we have decided to keep it open.

Over the summer, it is a good idea to think about what you want to bring to campus. When you receive your room assignment and roommate information by Aug. 1, we recommend that you reach out to coordinate big items such as mini fridge and TV.

You can find a complete list of recommended and prohibited items on our move-in page.
