Education: Dr. Thielen is a nurse administrator, educator and researcher. She graduated from Springfield Technical Community College with an ADN, Fitchburg State College with a BSN, the University of Massachusetts, with a MSN, and the University of Connecticut with a PhD.
Leadership: In her administrative role, she was formally the Associate Dean at Elms College School of Nursing in Chicopee, MA. Currently, she is the founding Director of the Pre-licensure BSN Program at the University of Hartford. Teaching: Dr. Thielen has over 25 years of experience in nursing education. Her areas of expertise in teaching include gerontology, informatics, and most recently interprofessional education.
Interest Areas Professional Interests: Her research interests include cognitive impairment, and care of the older adult. New topics of interest include readying students for the new generation of NCLEX and providing interprofessional education experiences for all nursing students.
