Nico Wheadon is Manager of Public Programs and Community Engagement at The Studio Museum in Harlem where she designs and produces adult programs that engage audiences, activate cultural partnerships and deepen the impact of the Museum’s mission. She continues to work as an independent writer, photographer and creative consultant, and conduct fieldwork research in participatory design and arts-led regeneration. Wheadon is a contributing writer at NOTOFU and Studio magazines, and has also contributed to Distorted, ArtVoices, NuktaArt and exhibition catalogues worldwide.

She has recently served on public art panels at The Watson Foundation, The Connecticut Office of the Arts, and The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and guest-lectured at No Longer Empty Curatorial Lab, Pratt, Howard and Cooper Union. In former roles, Wheadon served as Curatorial Director at Rush Arts Gallery and Curatorial Assistant at The Studio Museum, and guest-curated exhibitions in numerous galleries and international art fairs. She has also served on artist selection panels at The Addis Video Art Festival, Harlem Arts Festival, Fashion Center BID and Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop.
