Noted Printmaker Ruth Lingen to Present at Hartford Art School’s Auerbach Lecture Series

Artist Ruth Lingen will present a lecture entitled, “Contemporary Prints & Artist Books,” as part of the Hartford Art School’s Auerbach Lecture Series, Tuesday, April 18, at 2:30 p.m., at the University of Hartford in the Harry Jack Gray Center’s Wilde Auditorium. The talk is free and open to the public, and is made possible by the Beatrice Fox Auerbach Foundation Fund of the Hartford Art School Endowment, Inc.

Lingen is a master printer and papermaker at Pace Prints & Pace Paper in New York City. She has worked with more than 60 artists, including Donald Baechler, Chuck Close, Jim Dine, Leonardo Drew, Shepard Fairey, Jane Hammond, Robert Ryman, and Kiki Smith. As a publisher of artist books, she is represented by the Booklyn Artist Alliance. Her books can be found in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Getty, and the Brooklyn Museum, as well as in more than 20 libraries, including the New York Public Library and Harvard University.

The Auerbach Lecture Series brings visiting artists to campus twice each semester for one or two days, and during that time they deliver public lectures and spend time in the art studios critiquing student work.
