Prop Fabricator and Model Maker

Brooklyn Model Works
Brooklyn, NY

B.F.A., Painting, 2014

Since graduating the Hartford Art School, I have been working as a Prop Fabricator and Model Maker at Brooklyn Model Works in Brooklyn. I have worked on a wide range of jobs since I started such as: the 2015 Saks Fifth Ave Christmas windows, an automated Selfie Stick for the TV show UNReal and most recently a miniature Manhattan for a permanent Times Square installation titled “Gulliver’s Gate”.

For the last year, I have held the role of Assistant Project and Shop Manager while working on our roughly 1,000-sq. foot miniature Manhattan. The model was designed, built, and finished all within our Brooklyn Model Works shop. I participated in all aspects of the job which included: design and laser cutting of Plexiglas, modeling and 3D printing, building large scale models, painting and aging of buildings and structures and the final install of the entire space.

In addition to this job, I continue to pursue my career as a fine art painter who currently focuses on cityscapes and street scenes of New Orleans.

Attending the Hartford Art School taught me many things. Most importantly, it taught me how to take risks and to not be afraid of the unknown. I learned how important it was to try new things even if it was out of my comfort zone. Having opportunities such as traveling abroad, a wide range of unique classes, and incredible professors, inspired me to pursue my career as a Prop Fabricator and to live everyday as a new adventure.
