Water main break near GSU

Due to work on a water main break, water to faucets and bathrooms in GSU is shut off. GSU dining services are operating normally, because they have temporary water supplies.

How to Apply

You may read this page for general application information. Dates will be updated in 2018. 

Steps to apply: 

  1. Log on Self-Service to pay your room reservation deposit of $250 under Student Financial Records by March 6, 2017. Please also complete a housing application by clicking on the student tab at the top left corner, then Residential Life. The application is due March 7, 2017. 
  2. You will receive an email about your application status before the semester starts in September.

Important application deadlines

Application Deadline
Room Reservation: $250 March 6, 2017 by 4:30 p.m.
Housing Application March 7, 2017 by 11:59 p.m.
Special Housing Request March 1, 2017 by 4:30 p.m.
Anchoring Application: Apply to live in same room March 1, 2017 by 4:30 p.m.

What are the requirements to apply? 

  • Students must maintain full-time status, carrying at least 12 credit hours per semester. Additionally, you have to be registered for the fall semester classes by May 5, 2017. 
  • Students must be compliant with State of Connecticut meningococcal meningitis regulations prior to moving into their housing assignment.

Am I guaranteed housing?  

  • Your housing deposit reserves a space in University housing
  • If you decide to withdraw your housing application, you must notify the Admission Office by May 1. Deposits will not be refunded after May 1.
  • Applicants who do not pay the room–reservation deposit by the due date, and students who were not permitted to participate in the room–selection process, will be placed on the waiting list with no guarantee of housing. Students must complete a request for housing by completing the online housing application.  

What is the room assignment process? 

  • All assignments are completed on a first-come, first-served basis. On March 28, 2017, all students will receive an email from the Office of Residential Life with a timeslot to select a room based on when they applied. 
  • From April 3-6, 2017, students will select rooms based on their timeslot. 
  • Housing accommodations are assigned for the full academic year (September to May), excluding vacation periods
