Sign Up to Retrieve Belongings

The Office of Residential Life will open the residential side of campus for students to retrieve any personal belongings beginning Tuesday, May 26 at 8:30 a.m. through Monday, June 1 at 6:30 p.m. 

In order to maintain the safety and well-being of staff and residents, the University will be following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines regarding appropriate social distancing, and require all students to sign up for a designated time slot to enter campus.

Important Updates

  • It is NOT mandatory that you move out at this time. If you know that you will be not be able to return to campus before fall due to distance and other restrictions, please fill out this form so we can work with you to make alternate arrangements.
  • Mailing in your key - If you have already moved out but still have your key, please send it back to avoid being billed for it and a lock change. Please mail it, along with your room number, in a padded envelope to Max Koskoff, Office of Residential Life, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford, CT, 06117. We recommend sending your key via certified mail to ensure proper delivery.
  • You can switch your time slot only if you delete your previously selected sign-up time, and the new slot you wish to select is still available.

Important Reminders

Be sure to follow these instructions:

  • Use your UHart email to complete form
  • All visitors to campus must wear masks.
  • You may not sign up for more than on time slot or at the same time as your roommate or apartment-mate
  • Do not come to campus if you are not feeling well or have any COVID-19 symptoms
  • You are allowed no more than two people to assist you

Select the residential community in which you reside and complete the online form.

Residential Communities

  • You must enter campus through the main entrance on Bloomfield Avenue and check in with Public Safety. Be sure to bring a valid ID and receipt of when you have signed up to move-out.
  • Complete the packet taped to your door. Room keys must be placed in this packet and returned to the designated check out area located on Mark Twain Drive. If there is no key packet you will be given one as you leave campus to fill out.
  • Once checked out, you will not be permitted to remain on or return to campus.

The Villages

Hawk Hall and Park River Communities

All Hawk Hall or Park River belongings have been packed into boxes and moved to the Handel Performing Arts Center, which is located at 35 Westbourne Parkway in Hartford to allow us to provide housing for first responders. Please park in the main lot and someone will direct you upon entering the building. Boxes have been organized first by room, followed by side of the room. Items from shared areas have been grouped together, so please plan ahead with your roommate to determine who will retrieve which boxes.

Other Things to Know
  • You may also want to consider bringing a larger vehicle or two cars if possible.
  • We will have dollies and carts to assist you. These items will be wiped down between each family’s use.
  • Drop boxes will be here as well to donate non-perishable food items to Foodshare and there will also be a library return box here.
  • Once all items are packed in your vehicle, you will checkout with a representative from Residential Life.
