Housing Application

At the University of Hartford, our residence halls are your home.

The future is looking bright. This fall, we anticipate being able to offer more opportunities for you to connect and spend time with friends. While those friendships can be formed many places on campus, the heart of it all is your residence hall. The housing application helps us to determine the best fit for you, in addition to informing us of specific needs or requests.

In order to live on campus:
  • All students must maintain full-time status, carrying at least 12 credit hours per semester
  • All students must be compliant with the State of Connecticut meningococcal meningitis regulations prior to moving into their assigned housing
  • You are required to have a meal plan while living on campus. You can learn more about meal plan options and dining services here at hartford.campusdish.com and see meal plan costs on the Bursars website.

Living on Campus

If you are a new residential student and enrolled at the University of Hartford for your first semester, your housing deposit was incorporated in your main deposit to the university. The housing application will not work until this deposit has been submitted and processed (which typically takes 48 business hours) and you receive your University email address.

Complete your housing application
  1. Log into UHart’s Self-Service using your ID and password
  2. Select the "Student" tab at the top left side of the page
  3. Select "Residential Life" (this will take you to the Housing Portal)
  4. Log in with your University of Hartford email credentials
  5. Select “Housing Application”
  6. Select Academic Year 2022-2023
  7. Complete and submit the Academic Year 2022-2023 application

If you have any issues logging into the Self-Service Center, please contact the Center for Student Success at 860.768.4999 or css@hartford.edu

Deadlines
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis after the June 15 priority deadline.

The priority deadline for Residential Learning Communities is May 6.

Roommates

Students will be able to view other students' profiles on the Housing Portal and select a roommate beginning May 1.

If you do not request a roommate, we will match you based on the profile questions you answer inside your housing application, so make sure you answer them accurately.

For transfer students, we work to house you with other transfer and non-transfer students who have similar majors, interests, and responses to the profile questions inside the housing application. If you have a roommate you would like to request, you and your desired roommate must contact our office at reslife@hartford.edu to request to live together.

Single Rooms

Students can preference a single or super single room on the Housing Application.  Single rooms are limited and first-year and transfer students are encouraged to apply early if they would like a single or super single room.

Returning students are defined as students who have been enrolled at the University of Hartford for at least one semester. Any returning student who is enrolled as a full-time undergraduate program may apply to live in undergraduate housing.

Application Process

STEP 1: SUBMIT YOUR $75 HOUSING application fee

The $75 housing application fee is required to live in on-campus housing and participate in Housing Selection. This fee is non-refundable, allows the Office of Residential Life to know how many returning students will be living on campus, and provides them access to the housing application.  It is payable through CASHNET or in person at the Center for Student Success (CSS).

This fee will post to your account 48 hours after payment. For example, if you pay the housing application fee on a Monday, the housing application will become available to you by Wednesday.
