Volunteer Opportunity: Help Students Navigate Campus on the First Day of Classes

August 13, 2019
Submitted By: Sophia Olsen

As we are getting excited to welcome new students to campus, we are looking for volunteers to help guide them on their first day of classes, Wednesday Sept. 4 starting at 7:45 a.m.  Volunteers will be stationed around campus tasked with helping students get to their classes.

The first 70 volunteers that come to the Office of Marketing and Communication, Commons 101 (across from the Hawks Nest) on Sept. 4 starting at 7:30 a.m. will receive the First-Day Welcome T-shirt that students will recognize when asking for assistance. Anyone planning to volunteer is encouraged to study the University building and abbreviation code. (For example, where is HJG W114B?). Learn more.

The T-shirts include “Remembering SH/MM” on the sleeve as we, as a community, remember Solomon Haynes ’20, and Melissa Marchese '23, two students who gave selflessly to others, and whose lives were tragically lost over the summer.
