Due to illness, loss of jobs, and/or children being out of school, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many more people to be food insecure than ever before. If you know of someone who is experiencing food insecurity, please know that the Helping Hand Food Pantry is open on Thursdays from 2 to 6:30 p.m. at 344 Blue Hills Avenue in Hartford, just blocks from campus.

Pre-packaged food bags are available for anyone in need, including those in the campus community.

If you have questions or are interested in donating or volunteering, contact the pantry's Director Elsa Smith Pleasant at 860.243.9787 between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

The Helping Hand Food Pantry is a partner program of Foodshare, the regional food bank for Hartford and Tolland counties,

Additional food distribution sites and volunteer or donation opportunities can be found on the Foodshare website.
