A Message from the University Compliance Committee to All Students:

This notice is to familiarize you with your rights and responsibilities under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, federal laws that protect individuals with disabilities from unlawful discrimination related to those disabilities. These federal laws apply to the University of Hartford.

The Rehabilitation Act prohibits the University from denying admission to any qualified person on the basis of that person’s handicap. The Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits the University from denying any reasonable accommodation to any physical or mental limitation that a qualified applicant has, unless the accommodation imposes undue hardship on the University. Please note our University commitment to these laws per the University of Hartford policy:
In accordance with the requirement of 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Acts of 1990 (ADA) the University of Hartford will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs or activities.  The University of Hartford does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with all regulations promulgated by the U.S. Dept. of Education, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
