A Message From University Compliance Committee To All Faculty and Staff

This notice is to remind you of your responsibilities under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, federal laws that protect individuals with disabilities from unlawful discrimination related to those disabilities. These laws apply to The University of Hartford.

The Rehabilitation Act prohibits the University from discriminating against any person with regards to employment because of that person’s disability, or engaging in any act that subjects a qualified handicapped applicant to discrimination. The Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits the University from discriminating against a qualified individual on the basis of disability with regard to recruitment, advertising, job application procedures, hiring, rates of pay, discharging employees, promotions, job training, or other conditions and privileges of employment. All faculty and staff are expected to understand their legal obligations under these Acts.
