September 27, 2021
Submitted By: Sally Wang

All UHart undergraduate students (all majors) are invited to apply by Thursday, Sept. 30.

The Barney School of Business in cooperation with the College of Arts & Sciences and The College of ENHP are sponsoring a competition and the potential prize/internship opportunity that could follow with CVS Health.

Click on this link and we will follow up with more information about participating in this exciting opportunity:

I'm interested!

DO YOU HAVE…

  1. A strong interest in internship opportunity at CVS Health/Aetna?
  2. A strong GPA (3.0 and higher)
  3. Junior status (between 60-90 credits obtained to date)?

THE OPPORTUNITY:

To participate in a Case Competition sponsored by CVS Health/Aetna. You will be assigned to a project team to solution and compete. The competition will be aligned with the second half term of Fall 2021 semester (BAR 382 for course credit – 3 credits).

The Project Competition Focus (Prompt):

According to the Centers for Disease Control, members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer+ (LGBTQ+) community are at increased risk for several health threats when compared to their heterosexual, cisgender peers. CVS Health acknowledge these health disparities exist, and is committed to advancing equitable health outcomes.

Your team will compete to develop an initiative that CVS Health can implement to provide a better healthcare experience to the LGBTQ+ community. Your solution will be presented and judged by business leaders of Aetna/CVS.

YOUR PRIZE of a “job well done” on this project will be an opportunity to apply (and have had visibility from your participation in this competition) for the internship opportunity at Aetna/CVS in their rotational management program (this occurs summer between Junior and Senior year).

Please reach out to Celia Lofink at LOFINK@hartford.edu and John Thomson at JTHOMSON@hartford.edu if you have any questions.
