Professor Highberg Virtual Reading at Chicago's Women & Children First

This Friday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m., Nels Highberg, Professor of English and Modern Languages in the College of Arts and Sciences, will take part in a virtual reading sponsored by Women & Children First in Chicago. The reading celebrates the publication this month of the essay collection, Between Certain Death and a Possible Future: Queer Writing on Growing Up with the AIDS Crisis.

Edited by mattilda bernstein sycamore and published by Arsenal Pulp Press, Between Certain Death and a Possible Future includes thirty-six personal essays on the ongoing and persistent impact of the HIV/AIDS crisis in queer lives. Professor Highberg will read his essay along with fellow contributors Berend McKenzie and Sassafras Lowrey.
