Submitted By: A&S Dean's Office

After 24 years of loyal service to the University of Hartford, Computer Support Engineer Jason Pomposelli (’98, MEd ’00) will be relocating to the Orlando area later this month to pursue a new professional opportunity.

Jason first came to the University of Hartford as an undergraduate in the Electronic Engineering Technology program of Ward College of Technology (later part of the College of Engineering, Technology and Architecture). Upon graduating, Jason immediately began teaching as a part-time faculty member in the Department of Computing Sciences and working as a Computer Support Specialist for the College of Arts and Sciences, Hillyer College, and Hartford College for Women. Jason’s roles and responsibilities have grown over time, but many will have benefited from his expertise as the primary IT support for Apple devices, as the main IT support for the College of Arts and Sciences and the Provost’s Office, and as the person responsible for maintaining and overseeing a number of computer labs on campus. In recent years, Jason has played an increasingly prominent role in the implementation and maintenance of academic technology systems across the University, work for which he was well prepared by his completion of a master’s degree in Educational Computing and Technology (College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions).

During his time at the University, Jason also worked on the management team at the Disney Store in WestFarms Mall until its closure in 2021. Our sadness at Jason’s departure is tempered by the knowledge that he will be moving closer to Disney World and to the spring training home of his beloved Yankees.

The University will be hosting a reception for Jason on Thursday, Aug. 11, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Hursey Center (common area and patios).
