Annual Campus Security Authority (CSA) Training

October 18, 2022
Submitted By: David Stender

The Clery Act requires the University of Hartford to collect crime reports from a variety of individuals and organizations that the Clery Act considers to be Campus Security Authorities (CSAs).  CSAs include security and law enforcement officers; deans; coaches; residence hall staff; overseers and advisors to student clubs and organizations; and other campus officials who have "significant responsibility for student and campus activities," such as, but not limited to, student housing, student discipline, and campus judicial proceedings.

If you have been designated as a Campus Security Authority, you must comply with the Clery Act and reporting requirements by viewing a brief 13-minute CSA training video and completing a brief quiz following the video

CSAs will receive an email in the near future from our training provider Vector Solutions (aka Safe-Colleges) with instructions on how to access the training. The training will not come from a university email address. The training email is a legitimate email.

Please follow the login instructions, view the training video, and complete the training assessment.

This is annual training and CSAs are to complete the training each year. There is no ‘re-fresher’ version of training but rather the 13-minute general training.

As a reminder, ALL designated CSAs must comply with the Clery Act under federal law and complete the online training.

If you have any questions regarding CSA training, please contact Dr. David Stender at: stender@hartford.edu.
