In honor of Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement has been spotlighting campus community members of Hispanic/Latinx heritage throughout the month.

Our fourth and final Hispanic Heritage Month spotlight celebrates Emmanuel “Manny” Diaz, a third-year undergraduate student studying Electromechanical and Technology Engineering (BS'24). He is a Dominican, first-generation student-athlete. Manny is involved in numerous clubs such as the National Society for Black Engineers (NSBE), where he serves as the treasurer, and the Hispanic and Latino Student Association (HLSA), where he serves as the vice president. He is also a Resident Assistant (RA), works for the Center for Student Success, and serves as a Red Cap student orientation leader. Additionally, Manny is a hurdler on the UHart Track and Field team, serves on the Student Government Association (SGA) Ethics Committee, and is a mentor for STRIDE (Success Team for Readiness, Improvement, Diversity, and Excellence) and the Center of Student Success.

Please join us in thanking Manny for the many ways he makes our campus community more welcoming and inclusive!
