After more than six years at the University of Hartford, Lisa Coté will be embarking on a new adventure as the campus engagement manager at Stone Academy in East Hartford. Her last day at UHart will be Thursday, Dec. 22.

Lisa joined the UHart community in August of 2016 as a resident director for A and B Neighborhoods. In October 2017, she transitioned into a dual role serving the Center for Community Service and the Office of Student Activities and Greek Life. In this role, Lisa advised the Campus Activities Team and the Commuter Student Association, while also supporting the Helping Hawks Service Scholars and annual community service programs, including the Angel Tree program, Helping Hawks day of service, and Alternative Spring Break service trips. In July 2019, the inception of the Office of Student Engagement and Inclusion led to Lisa’s role shifting to Assistant Director of Engagement, Support, and Development, which centered the Commuter Student Association, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives for students, and community service initiatives. In September of 2021, Lisa stepped into the role of assistant director of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement, where her focus has been engaging staff and faculty in educational programs about identity and inclusion, supporting the employee affinity networks, and compiling resource guides, all in support of the mission to foster a more equitable and inclusive campus community for individuals of all identities.

Additionally, Lisa has worked as the program coordinator of the Hillyer College Summer Bridge program, planning extracurricular activities for the Bridge students in 2018, 2019, and 2022. She also served as a member of the COVID Response Team during the Fall 2020, Spring 2021, Fall 2021, and Spring 2022 semester.

Lisa has been a tremendous asset to the office and will be missed. She has shared her appreciation for the opportunities afforded, and for the wonderful people she’s had the chance to meet and collaborate with during her time at UHart. We will celebrate Lisa and her contributions to the University on Dec. 5, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Henry Roberts Board Room (CC 316).
