eliot-william.pngEliot Williams, a member of the University of Hartford Board of Regents from 2000 to 2009 and then again from 2010 to 2019, died on Oct. 31.

Never wanting to be the center of attention, Williams reached near and far in his service to others, touching not only the local community but helping many in places like South Africa, Haiti, Nicaragua, India, and Cuba. He acquired a deep love and appreciation for the rich gifts of third-world countries.

Williams served in the Army Medical Service Corps and was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1969. His professional career included senior investment management positions at the Travelers (from which he retired in 1993), CS First Boston, Conifer Investments, and The New England Guild Wealth Advisors.

A celebration of Eliot Williams's life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. at the First Church, 107 Palisado Ave. in Windsor, Conn.
