Areas of Study

Barney offers a wide range of degree options for you to choose from: nine undergraduate programs, fourteen undergraduate minors, two post-baccalaureate certificates, four graduate programs, five dual-degree graduate programs, and eleven postgraduate certificate programs.

Graduate offerings are flexible to accommodate working professionals. You can enroll as a full-time or part-time student and can study on campus, online, or a combination of both.

Stanley Black & Decker Launches UHart Scholars Program

Stanley Black & Decker is providing scholarships, mentoring programs, early career opportunities, and more to University of Hartford business students through a new scholars program. The “Be a Force for Good Scholarship” initiative will provide a total of $600,000 in scholarships over four years to UHart’s Stanley Black & Decker Scholars.

Two Generations of Barney Students Connect Through Barney Hall of Fame

Leslie Li ‘25, the 2023 Barney Alumni Hall of Fame scholarship recipient, is a second-generation Barney student. Her father, Jianjun (Jason) Li M’94, was thrilled when his daughter decided to attend UHart—he knew that she would receive a great education and career preparation. However, he was beyond surprised when attending the ceremony honoring his daughter to learn that Professor Fairfield-Sonn, who he worked for almost 30 years ago, would also be in attendance.

Barney School of Business students have opened the Career Ready Closet, offering fellow University of Hartford students the chance to rent professional attire for free. Students from all majors and schools and colleges can frequent the closet, which is run by the Barney Leadership Council.

Alissa Hoffman
3+1 Accelerated Marketing Major, '22, M'23

Alissa Hoffman ’22, M’23 was a marketing major in the 3+1 Accelerated Program. She served as president of Student Government Association, a member of the Barney Leadership Council and American Marketing Association, among many other clubs and organizations. She recently joined Covr Financial Technologies as a Creative Marketing Associate.

 

I've learned from my time at UHart and the Barney School of Business that all the clubs and organizations I'm involved in are teaching me leadership skills, public speaking skills, and most importantly, time management.
