Whichever track you choose, you will be prepared and qualified for one of the 100+ majors available to students at the University of Hartford.

We offer two program tracks at Hillyer College: One leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree, and the other leading to a Bachelor of Science degree.  

Whichever track you choose, you will be prepared and qualified for one of the 100+ majors available to students at the University of Hartford. Along the way you will gain valuable skills that will help you in your career choice.

 

Academic Requirements

Our Flexible Pathways program enables you to pursue a Bachelor of Arts and take classes that fulfill requirements in all BA majors offered by the University. You can use the Flexible Pathway to advance to candidacy at the end of two, three, or four semesters at the University. The sequence below describes those options. Working with your Center for Student Success advisor and faculty mentor, courses are selected that maximize your advancement toward your degree and success.

Two Semester Flexible Pathway

  •  3 credits in Academic Strategies
  •  6 credits in English
  •  3-6 credits in Math
  •  6 credits in History and Humanities
  •  3-6 credits in Social Sciences
  •  6-9 credits in your intended major

 Three Semester Flexible Pathway
  •  3 credits in Academic Strategies
  •  9 credits in English and Literature
  •  3-6 credits in Math
  •  6-9 credits in History and Humanities
  •  6-9 credits in Social Sciences
  •  9-12 credits in your intended major

Four Semester Flexible Pathway

  •  3 credits of Academic Strategies
  •  12 credits of English and Literature
  •  3-6 credits of Math
  •  12 credits of History and Humanities
  •  6 credits of Social Sciences
  •  4 credits in Laboratory Science
  •  17-20 credits in your intended major
